Diffusion
Dissemination of knowledge is an important retribution from FoRC to society. FoRC´s scientists aim at spreading the knowledge arising from their research to different sectors of society, such as academia and professionals, including whose responsible for public policies related to health and food safety and quality.
The knowledge generated by FoRC scientists is disseminated through:
- talks and educational material for NGOs, associations, schools, hospitals, and specific groups of people (elderly, pregnant women, diabetic persons, chronic digestive disease patients), providing guidelines on diets and nutrition.
- short educational videos, with answers to questions related to diets and nutrition.
- Programs with elementary schools in the public network with guidance on nutrition education, using the Educommunication concept.
- Publication of scientific papers, dissertations, thesis, abstracts presented at meetings, agreements with Universities from abroad.
- Encourage programs of Scientific Initiation in high schools.
- Teaching in graduate courses
- Approach professional associations aiming at training of their members.
- Promote courses at USP and in company.
- Update the Brazilian Food Composition Table (TBFC) (Tabela Brasileira de Composição de Alimentos - TBCA) and develop a diet plan management system
